UBC ITE Student Chapter Mini-Conference

UBC ITE SC is committed to promoting transportation engineering and strengthening the connection between students (undergraduate and graduate alike) and industry professionals. In the past, the SC held an annual industry night which provided a great opportunity for students to network with professionals; however, this year the SC is striving to improve this event by expanding it to a student mini-conference.

The new mini-conference not only provides the industry with an opportunity to promote any employment the company might have for summer students and prospective graduates but also allows the students to showcase their academic progress. The UBC ITE SC is proud to announce that Dr. Michael J. Shiffer, VP of Planning at TransLink, will be the keynote speaker of the mini-conference. The first portion of the evening will be dedicated to presentations by students to expose the industry to the variety of research projects adopted by UBC; followed by an undergraduate poster competition on projects related to transportation engineering.

We would like to invite professionals to participate and contribute to this new and exciting professional development event. The industry night has helped spark interest in many graduating engineers to seek career paths that may possibly be offered by your company and inspire these individuals to contribute their ideas to your company's corporate vision.
